These solutions are a blend of advanced materials science and extensive research into environmental interactions. They not only ensure surfaces stay clean and hygienic but also actively work against pollutants while providing durable protection against corrosion and rust formation. The remarkable efficacy of our product line is driven by the scientific theory explored comprehensively in this section, which enables our coatings to actively decompose organic pollutants through their synergistic interaction with light and moisture.
The nanoparticles are chemically anchored to the coated surface. In instances of intense mechanical abrasion, the coating might experience partial removal. However, only micro and macro particles may be dislodged from the surface, and these are not considered hazardous for inhalation.
Upon exposure to light and moisture, the coating becomes activated. This activation results in the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These ROS have extremely short lifespans, typically in the millisecond range, during which they interact with organic compounds such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present on the surface. As a consequence, these organic entities are decomposed, while the reactive oxygen species are transformed into water and carbon dioxide.
Upon application to diverse substrates — including textiles, metals, polymers, plastics, leather, and personal protective equipment (PPE) — NCT-HYGI Coating® establishes a fine composite layer. This layer, consisting of photocatalytic nanoparticles intertwined with polymer binders, initiates the production of oxidative compounds. The culmination of this oxidative degradation results in the formation of carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). Through this mechanism, NCT-HYGI Coating® not only facilitates the decomposition of organic pollutants such as residues, lipids, and hydrocarbons but also ensures surface sterilization and anti-corrosion protection.

This solution, formulated as an aqueous dispersion, is designed for coating the interior surfaces of photocatalytic air purification systems, guaranteeing that purified and refined air circulates within enclosed spaces. Scientists around the world have been working hard to use light-driven photocatalytic oxidation to ensure cleaner air and environments. Nanocolltech has made this a reality with our NCT-HYGI Coating-AIR®.
Using our photoreactive air purifier with the inner-coated photocatalyst layer kills 96% of naturally occurring airborne microorganisms after 48 hours of visible light illumination.
The device does not emit ozone or harmful chemicals during operation. Staff can stay in the same room with the device while it is operating and enjoy clean, treated air.
